Susie Heimbach

childhood ambition: To become a veterinarian and to read all of the Little House on the Prairie books by Laura Ingalls Wilder

first job: Blockbuster Video clerk (ick!)

proudest moment: When I completed my first children’s storytime program successfully (and every program I’ve presented since then!)

biggest challenge: Making sure I offer something for everyone in the Children’s Room

inspiration: Really good children’s books (they make me want to put them in the hands of kids and then go read some more!)

currently reading: The Geographer’s Library by John Fasman and Quiet, Please: Dispatches from a Public Librarian by Scott Douglas (I swear I’m not even making those titles up!)

most surprising thing about being a librarian: Every day at the library is different… You could work in the same library for twenty years and still get a question you’ve never been asked before!

I love being a librarian because: I get to work with two of my favorite things — children and books!
