Childhood ambition: nurse or teacher

First job: Admissions Assistant (Admissions & Guidance Offices) at a community college

Proudest moment/biggest challenge: I frequently say that my greatest joy, and greatest challenge, has been being a “Mom”

Currently reading: Eat, Pray, Love: One Woman’s Search For Everything Across Italy, India & Indonesia by Elizabeth Gilbert–plus a stack of other books piled on my nightstand

Most surprising thing about being a librarian: As a
former volunteer director, social worker, newspaper correspondent, small business owner (and other positions), I’m able to incorporate many of those skills and experiences into serving our patrons and our community each day.

I love being a librarian because: As a Youth Librarian, I have a myriad of roles–teacher, storyteller, vocalist, artist, researcher, publicist, social worker, and so much more.
