childhood ambition: To be an Egyptologist

    first job: Library Page

biggest challenge: Promoting the love of reading in the “My Space, Face book, and Reality TV” age.

inspiration: Spending time in the outdoors and art.

currently reading: The Art of the Family Tree: creative family history projects using paper art, fabric, and collage / Jen Mason.

most surprising thing about being a librarian/library leader: “Uneasy lies the head that wears a crown.” (From Shakespeare’s Henry IV. Part II, 1597). Translates to: there are many worries for a person who is in a leadership position.

I love being a librarian because: I get a warm glow inside when I see the light in someone’s eyes when I’ve located the exact information they needed or found the perfect book for them to spend the weekend reading.
