childhood ambition: Scientist (pathology)

first job: waiting tables and such

proudest moment: birth of my first child (although now that he is 20, I can say that it’s also provided my most humbling experiences)

biggest challenge: overcoming introverted nature and lack of confidence to fulfill the duties of a children’s librarian.

inspiration: passion for early intervention literacy programs, and the several dedicated women in the field with whom I’ve interacted.

currently reading: Wednesday Wars by Gary Schmidt

most surprising thing about being a librarian: how empowering it is.

I love being a librarian because: It gives me the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of others and ultimately positively impact my community
